I am such an Etsy whore.
How could I not be? The handmade pieces, the incredibly wide price range, the jewelry and clothes and housewares…Etsy and I were meant to be.
What popped my Etsy cherry was a a store by the name of bunny X productions. Knowing that since I was a child I couldn’t resist anything octo-related, someone linked me to her collection of polymer clay cephalopods. I was immediately hooked: an actual person, hand-sculpting intricate bobbles, and I could buy them for at least half of what a boutique would charge me for a mass-marketed version? And the money would go, not to some middle man, but to her? Hell yes.
I snatched up Azia, one of Amy’s Xgirls, and a SWAKtobox for my boyfriend (I couldn’t leave him out). The former is currently sitting, happy as can be, on a shelf in my living room:

The first time anyone sees her, they’re not sure whether she’s adorable or extra-creepy…but they always notice her.
Azia is still one of my favorite purchases. Since then, I’ve picked up a few more items from Amy, namely the Xtopuses and necklace shown below. Her work is always really detailed, and I’ve never been disappointed in her prices or shipping times. If you haven’t checked her out, you should. Her work is a true conversation starter.
