So about that necklace…

Gift with purchase from My Lavaliere

I promised I’d blog about the necklace peeking out of my last post, as well as the other items I’ve purchased from My Lavaliere, and I’m glad to have an excuse to do it: I’d almost forgotten this girl’s serious artistic range.

This wasn’t even something I ordered – it came as a gift with my purchase. Honestly, it’s not something I would have picked for myself, but it grew on me. It’s an interesting mix of old-world materials (brass) and modern shapes (an arrow and rounded heart) that’s eye-catching the moment I put it on.

What was the “with purchase” part? It was this stuff:
Gin necklace, My Lavaliere Riga bracelet, My Lavaliere
She made the “Gin necklace” using a vintage tag, and modernized it using that plastic gun (which I had to remove – it clinked a little too much for me to wear it at work) and heart. I get compliments on it every time I wear it, which is pretty sweet for a mere $22 (part of which is donated to charity – she donates part of every sale she makes).

The bracelet was also a steal at $14, and made a great gift paired with a colorful handmade scarf and hand-written note on pretty stationary. I love how old-school-art-nouveau it is – totally different from the necklaces. Keep in mind, though, the size of your wrist (or your giftie’s wrist!) and compare it to the length of the bracelet: at seven inches, the Riga won’t fit larger-boned people.

So, let’s recap: three unique pieces, for under forty bucks (partly donated to charity), all covered under one shipping fee, and all made with high-quality materials that don’t make my skin itch. (Did I mention that part? No? Well, this sensitive-skinned girl is feeling just fine after wearing her arrow necklace all day, thank you very much!) Thanks, My Lavaliere.

I love that GIN necklace…but it’s too bad about the toy gun, it’s so cute all pulled together. This post also made me realize I should measure my wrists…
