Christina Entcheva: Giveaway!
Let’s start the week off right: Graphic designer and illustrator Christina Entcheva has partnered with Awakened Aesthetic for a giveaway!
I’ve known Christina (through the internet) for a while now, and I’ve always been jealous of her vision, creativity, and artistic talent. This little piece of gorgeous was born in Bulgaria and emigrated to the U.S. in 1993, bringing with her a love of drawing that she’s had for as long as she can remember. However, she only recently started doing it professionally – instead, she pursued a career in graphic design. Her new Etsy shop is located here.
In her free time (what free time?) she works on developing identity and print projects with emerging musical talent, non-profit organizations, and small businesses. I couldn’t ask for someone more conscious, more “awakened,” than her.
On to the giveaway! We’ve got two gifts for you. The first is a set of two buttons, imprinted with Ms. Entcheva’s awesome art:
[Click the image for greater detail!]
The above designs are all available in her Etsy store for a buck fifty each, but if you win, you have your pick of her illustrations for your prize.
The second, grander prize, is a 9 x 7.5 unframed print of Christina’s most popular piece, “Twins.”
[Click the image to make it larger.]
This is a limited edition print run, signed and numbered by Christina, so it’s a pretty wicked steal. (But if you don’t win, it’s also available at her shop, here.)
Because this is my first giveaway, I wanted to give you tons of ways to win. Some are easy (see numbers one and two) and some are blatant self promotion, but they all mean more chances at free limited edition art.
- Go to Christina’s Etsy page, peruse her art, and comment with a link to your favorite print. (Don’t forget to check out her mixed media pieces.)
- Go to her website, ChristinaEntcheva.com, and comment with the design, illustration, pattern, or collage that isn’t for sale, but should be. (She’s got tons of work that’s just ripe for the picking, in my opinion.)
- Add me on Twitter and Tweet this giveaway at @craftyasparagus. Then leave a comment with a link to your tweet.
- And for two more entries, link this giveaway on your blog and comment here with the link to your entry.
**Remember: you MUST list your email in every entry to the contest, or I won’t be able to contact you!** (That means your entry won’t count, which will suck. A lot.)
This giveaway ends on Monday, May 4 @ 11:59pm and I’ll announce the winners on Wednesday, May 6. Applicable to US residents only. Good luck!

I had only found Christina’s shop recently, but her images have been haunting me! Of the prints available on her Etsy shop, “Twins” is certainly my favorite…
From her unprinted images, I actually like the “Clutch” pattern…. it’d make fantastic (eco-friendly) wrapping paper!

Hooray! Thanks for the kind words, Jen. I’m excited about this giveaway!
Although “Twins” is the prize I’d want out of this awesome giveaway (I really do like the print), in her Etsy shop I really liked this one:

From her website, I like a few things! My favorite pattern is “Spring” – it really seems like it belongs on a purse or something. It’s definitely a fun, lively pattern that I’d go for immediately if I saw it on an accessory. For the illustrations on her site, my favorite is “Kalina” and I think it should be made available to buy!
Lastly, here is my public journal entry for this giveaway:

I think I definitely love the collages the best. From her store, my fave is the John Cooper Clarke print. From her site I love “me”. Beautiful pieces!

I already see a spot on my wall for “Twins” Love it!

I have always, always, always loved Christina’s art! Yay for a giveaway of it
My favorite illustration not for sale is “Garden State.” I also really like “Cassandra.”
The “Spring” pattern is gorgeous as well. I’d definitely carry a tote bag or something of the sort printed like that.
On her Etsy, I really really really like the Combination I print and the John Cooper Clarke print.
As for artwork on her page that isn’t for sale, I really love Garden State and Kalina.
Since Sam and I are moving next month, these are definitely the kind of artwork I would put up in my living room because I think it would spark a lot of great conversation. You can’t have art like this on your wall and NOT have something to talk about.

Thaaaaaank you Jen and Christina!!
This one! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=23673450 as it used to grace my myspace page, but sadly, it went away when Christina cancelled her account.
As Christina already knows a million times over, the e.e. cummings print is my favorite on her Etsy store (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22441898). It’s in a wonderful spot framed right above my bed and as I tell her one of my fave things to do nearly everyday is read it’s first line: “i like my body when it is with your body” because it reminds me of just how vulnerable to intimacy we all are. i <3 christina entcheva!
1) I really love the William Carlos Williams print from her Etsy page! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22166786. It’s so funky and fun.
2) I really like that Birds design…I would but a bag with that design definitely.
Glad to see she is doing pretty well!

What a fascinating set of prints. I’m rather drawn to the e.e. cummings print, myself, but they are all quite striking.
I’d love to see the Garden State illustration available at the store. It’s the perfect union of kickass illustration and pretty pattern.
I love this!
