Everything Is Better With Food
You know what’s going to make my whole week better? The local farmers market, that’s what.

Today is my local farmers market’s opening day, and I’m taking the afternoon to peruse the fruits, veggies, breads, meats…and everything else! When visiting a farmer’s market, you get to meet people who actually know something about food, and since I know next to nothing, it’s a good opportunity for me to learn something new. I even got an offer from an internet from for some lessons in cooking the fresh cuts of meat and organic veggies I’ll be picking up! It’s all very exciting, if you ask me. Here’s what is in season:
- Asparagus
- Lots of spring greens
- Farmstead cheeses
- Bread from Tall Grass Bakery or Columbia City Bakery
- Organic and grass-fed chicken, beef, pork and eggs
- Pacific Northwest wild-caught salmon from Loki Fish
Do you have a farmers market near you? If not, where do you shop for fresh produce?

That picture is so appetizing, and farmstead cheese with bakery bread sounds soooo good right now! You’re making me hungry! I don’t have a farmers market near me, but we do have an organic grocery store that I’m going to have to hit up tomorrow bc now I’m in the mood for good foods!
