An Instant Classic: Black & White
I’ve always loved how clean-looking and classic the combination of pure black and white is. Being that I rent an old (read: dusty) house and own a big (read: furry) dog, I tend to shy away from anything elaborate, but these Etsy finds are just the thing to add a bold statement -with a modern twist, of course – to any room or outfit.
Budding Bracelet – Silver – by Precious Meshes

Hand-crocheted in Philadelphia, this bracelet ($92) is something I’ve coveted for over a year. I love how it has all of the sex appeal of a single strand of pearls while still being eye-catching and unique – perfect with a simple little black dress. Each bracelet (and necklace, and earring, and her pendants and other items) is available in sterling and oxidized silver, as well as 14K goldfill, and is made to order (shipped out about a week after your order). If you’re impatient, check out her “ready to go” section.
Bird Mask Papercut Print by Elsita

Talk about talent: these prints ($25) are made from real papercuts by Elsita, who also creates and sells hand-drawn and digitally-colored art prints. Her papercut prints almost look like windows to another world – definitely something I’d love to hang in my bedroom for a dreamy look. If you’re lucky by nature, you should also check out her blog, where she’s giving away one of her original papercuts.
Little Black Dress – Olive Oil Soap – by Savor

Just looking at this soap makes me feel a little more sexy. It’s made with olive oil and black licorice, and though I won’t eat the latter, my boyfriend loves it. Can you guess what my nefarious plan is? Savor lists the strength of each soap (this one is “medium strong”) so you know how powerful it’s going to be before you try it, and each full-size soap is a standard four ounces. For those into more classic and/or floral scents, Savor has those (along with body mists, shaving soaps, and a men’s line) too. ($5.25)
Born and raised in Washington state (just like me!) Soule is a do-it-all artist with a great eye for creating timeless designs with urban flair. If you’re in or near Seattle, check out her bio to see where you can find her. If not, her shop has lots of amazing home decor items – much of which is on sale (including the above mugs – $14) and much of which is black and white!

Gorgeous picks, I am quite fond of black and white as well…though mostly black!

How I loveeee those mugs. I’m such a sucker for dandelions.
Lovely post! I want to buy anything, which is depressing as I should buy nothing!
Too bad that soap probably smells like black licorice, I absolutely can’t stand the stuff, but that soap is SO pretty. I am also loving those dandelion mugs…how cute!
Michelle: a couple of their other soaps have a similarly pretty look without smelling like licorice. Check out the soaps below:
