Occasionally, I like to post things that I just plain want – whether or not they fit my style, budget, or even my ever-changing mood.  Ergo, the semi-regular To Covet: a category that shows one thing that I’ve been coveting, be it eco-, socio- or independently-friendly.

I have not wanted a Little not-quite-Black Dress this badly in a long time.  It’s sold by local boutique Mapel, and made by Melanie Renee Design.  MRD is located on the central coast of California and uses natural organic fabrics and brilliant, soft silks.  The entire line is very pretty and feminine (they draw inspiration from classic mid-century designs) but this dress is my absolute favorite so far.  It’s perfect for an office party, a concert, a fashion event…and the sleeveless, empire waist style can be worn with any jacket or scarf, whether fitted or billowy.
